乾，健也。坤，順也。震，動也。巽，入也。坎，陷也。離，麗也。艮，止也。兌，說也。
疏正義曰：此一節說八卦名訓。乾象天，體運轉不息，故為健也。「坤，順也」，坤象地，地順承於天，故為順也。「震，動也」，震象雷，雷奮動萬物，故為動也。「巽，入也」，巽象風，風行無所不入，故為入也。「坎，陷也」，坎象水，水處險陷，故為陷也。「離，麗也」，離象火，火必著於物，故為麗也。「艮，止也」，艮象山，山體靜止，故為止也。「兌，說也」，兌象澤，澤潤萬物，故為說也。
