元祐七年十月某日，龍圖閣學士左朝奉郎守兵部尚書蘇軾劄子奏。臣竊謂才難之病，古今所同，朝廷每欲治財賦，除盜賊，幹邊鄙，興利除害，常有臨事乏人之歎。古人有言：「寬則寵名譽之人，急則用介胄之士。」所用非所養，所養非所用。此古今之通患也。臣伏見承議郎監東排岸司林豫，自為布衣，已有奇節，及其從事，所至有聲。其在漣水，屏除群盜，尤著方略。其人勇於立事，常有為國捐軀之意。試之盤錯之地，必顯利器。伏望聖慈特與量材擢用。若後不如所舉，臣等甘伏朝典。取進止。
