臣某言：近具表乞罷政事分司，伏奉手詔封還，不允所乞者。
私懷懇至，已具布聞；聖訓丁寧，未蒙開納。敢冒崇高之聽，再輸悃愊之情。（中謝。）臣聞任賢之方，要其有用，陳力之義，止於不能。苟弗集於事功，且重罹於疢疾，豈容叨據，以累明揚。伏念臣猥以孤生，親逢盛世。昧於量己，志欲補於休明；失在信書，事浸成於迂闊。每煩眾論，上慁聖聰。久知素願之難諧，繼以積痾而自困。辭而去位，庶逃竊食之誅；勉以就工，重荷包荒之德。雖貪順命，終懼妨功。伏望皇帝陛下閎度並容，大明俯燭，特垂矜允，俾遂退藏。如
