臣竊見故御史中丞呂誨，忠於先朝，極陳讜論，至忤時宰，繼死外藩。臣等皆嘗與之同官，備聞論議，一切出於至誠，而有不撓不回之節。雖處散地，未嘗一日有忘朝廷之意。憂傷憤疾，以致殞沒。臨終之日，召司馬光面托後事，無一言及其家私，惟云朝廷事猶可救，願公更且竭力。歷觀前後議臣，忠勤忘身，少見其比。今其家甚貧，諸子仕於常調。欲望聖慈特賜矜憫，優加贈典，錄用諸子之才者，以旌名臣之後，取進止。
