僕以元豐三年二月一日至黃州，時家在南都，獨與兒子邁來，郡中無一人舊識者。時時策杖在江上，望雲濤渺然，亦不知有文甫兄弟在江南也。居十餘日，有長髯者惠然見過，乃文甫之弟子辯。留語半日，云：「迫寒食，且歸東湖。」僕送之江上，微風細雨，葉舟橫江而去。僕登夏隩尾高邱以望之，髣髴見舟及武昌步，乃還。爾後遂相往來，及今四週歲，相過殆百數。遂欲買田而老焉，然竟不遂。近忽量移臨汝，念將復去，而後期未可必。感物悽然，有不勝懷。浮屠不三宿桑下者，有以也哉。七年三月九日。
