餘患赤目，或言不可食膾。餘欲聽之，而口不可，曰：「我與子為口，彼與子為眼，彼何厚，我何薄？以彼患而廢我食，不可。」子瞻不能決。口謂眼曰：「他日我㽽，汝視物吾不禁也。」管仲有言：「畏威如疾，民之上也；從懷如流，民之下也。」又曰：「燕安酖毒，不可懷也。」《禮》曰：「君子莊敬日強，安肆日偷。」
