自徐聞渡海，歷瓊至儋，又西至昌化縣西北二十里，有山秀峙海上，石峰巉然若巨人冠帽西南向而坐者，俚人謂之山胳膊。而偽漢之世，封山神為鎮海廣德王。五代之末，南夷有知望氣者，曰：「是山有寶氣，上達於天。」艤舟其下，斫山發石以求之。夜半，大風，浪駕其舟空中，碎之石峰下，夷皆溺死。儋之父老，猶有及見敗舟山上者，今獨有叮石存焉耳。天地之寶，非人所得睥睨者，晉張華使其客雷煥發酆城獄，取寶劍佩之，華終以忠遇禍，坐此也夫。今此山之上，上帝賜寶以奠南極，而貪冒無知之夷，欲以力取而己有之，其誅死宜哉！

五月，有詔徙廉州。自念謫居海南三歲，飲鹹食腥，陵暴颶霧而得還者，山川之神實相之。再拜稽首，西向而辭焉，且書其事，碑而銘之。山有石池，產紫鱗魚，民莫敢犯，石峰之側多荔支、黃柑，得就食，持去，則有風雹之變。其銘曰：

瓊崖千里塊海中，民夷錯居古相蒙。方壺蓬萊
