庾亮召蘇峻。孔坦與陶回共說王導：「及峻未至，宜急斷阜陵之界，守江西當利諸口，彼少我眾，一戰決矣。若峻未來，可往逼其城。今不先往，峻必先入，有奪人之心。」導然之。亮以為峻若徑來，是襲朝廷虛也。不從。及峻將至，回又說亮：「峻知石頭有重戍，不敢直下，必向小丹陽南道步來。若以伏兵邀之，可一戰而擒。」亮又不從。事見二人傳。峻果由小丹陽，經秣陵，迷失道。逢郡人，執以為向導，夜行無部分。亮聞之，深悔。吾以謂召峻固失計。然若從二人言，猶不至覆國幾於滅亡也。晁錯削七國，大類此。亞夫猶能速馳，行入梁楚之郊，故漢不敗。吾嘗謂晁錯能容忍七國，待事發而發，固上策。若不能忍決欲發者，自可召王濞入朝，仍發大兵隨之。吳若不朝，便可進討，則疾雷不及掩耳。吳破，則諸侯服矣，又當獨罪狀吳而不及餘國。如李文饒輔車之詔，或分遣使者發其兵，諸國雖疑，亦不能一旦合從俱反也。錯知吳必反，不先未削為反備，既反而後調兵食，又一旦而削七國，以合諸侯之交，
