《淮南子》曰：鯀湮洪水，盜帝之息壤，帝使祝融殺之於羽淵。
今荊州南門外，有狀若屋宇陷入地中，而猶見其脊者。
旁有石記，雲不可犯。
畚鍤所及，輒復如故。
又頗以致雷雨，歲大旱，屢發有應。
予感之，乃為作詩。
其辭曰：
帝息此壤，以藩幽臺。
有神司之，隨取而培。
帝敕下民，無取或開。
惟帝不言，以雷以雨。
惟民知之，幸帝之恕。
帝茫不知，誰敢以告。
帝怒不常，下土是震。
使民前知，是役於民。
無是墳者，誰取誰予。
惟其的之，是以射之。
