臨川之州城橫溪上。西出，出城之上，有宮巋然。溪之沄沄，流過其下。東南之山，皆在其門戶窗牖之間者，曰祥符觀。觀之中有屋四注，深五十五尺，廣七十二尺，陛之高，居深十八分之一，楹二十有四，門兩夾窗，中像三，旁像二十有六者，曰三清殿。
用其師之說以動人，而能有此者，曰道士黎自新。出其力以歸於道士之說，而卒成此者，曰里之人鄧佺。佺之子表，故常與予遊。予之歸，表語其父之事，而乞余文，予不能拒也。夫用其師之說以動人者，道士也，予力顧出道士之下，復何云哉！
