元祐六年十月，潁州久旱，聞潁上有張龍公神祠，極靈異，乃齋戒遣男迨與州學教授陳履常往禱之。迨亦頗信道教，沐浴齋居而往。明日，當以龍骨至，天色少變。二十六日，會景貺、履常、二歐陽，作詩云：「後夜龍作雲，天明雪填渠。夢回聞剝啄，誰呼趙、陳、予？」景貺拊掌曰：「句法甚親，前此未有此法。」季默曰：「有之。長官請客吏請客，目曰『主簿、少府、我』。即此語也。」相與笑語。至三更歸時，星鬥燦然，就枕未幾，而雨已鳴檐矣。至朔旦日，作五人者復會於郡齋。既感嘆龍公之威德，復喜詩語之不謬。季默欲書之，以為異日一笑。是日，景貺出迨詩云：「吾儕歸臥髀骨裂，會友攜壺勞行役。」仆笑曰：「是男也，好勇過我。」
