十二月十九日，東坡生日也。置酒赤壁磯下，踞高峰，俯鵲巢。酒酣，笛聲起於江上。客有郭、石二生，頗知音，謂坡曰：「笛聲有新意，非俗工也。」使人問之，則進士李委，聞坡生日，作新曲曰《鶴南飛》以獻。呼之使前，則青巾紫裘要笛而已。既奏新曲，又快作數弄，嘹然有穿雲裂石之聲。坐客皆引滿醉倒。委袖出嘉紙一幅，曰：「吾無求於公，得一絕句足矣。」坡笑而從之。
山頭孤鶴向南飛，載我南遊到九嶷。
下界何人也吹笛，可憐時復犯龜茲。
