蘇老泉有《族譜引》，又有《族譜亭記》。引專言父祖子孫出於一本，不可忽忘；記則以鄉人不義不睦者為戒。愚嘗謂引之詞極論骨肉之所從，而動其內心之愛，此宜與賢者道。至於記之所載，其言他人戕賊之故，而惟恐族陷於不淑。羞惡之心，人皆有之，則此訓又親切焉。西山李氏，家於龍泉數百年，先世有諱忞者，與潁濱遊，老泉之譜引，自以為得於面授，而切意其亭記尚未及見也。今其族仿蘇氏作族譜亭，以不忘先世潁濱之交，以庶幾老泉之意。有名繼祖者，又修復之，以紹前志。為予求字，予為之書，而樂道其美。夫其譜引先世既自得之以遺其子孫，今其子孫固已識先世之用心矣。予猶以為未也，則告諸繼祖，歲時聚族拜奠亭下，更願與蘇公亭記各各觀誦一過，使為長上者復申告之曰：「謹毋為鄉之某人者！」
