選詩以十九首為正體。晉、宋間詩雖通曰《選》，而藻麗之習，蓋日以新。陸士衡集有擬十九首，是晉人已以十九首為不可及。十九首竟不知何人作也？後江文通作三十首詩，擬晉、宋諸公，則十九首邈乎其愈遠矣！予友雲屋蕭君燾夫，五年前善作李長吉體，後又學陶。自從予遊，又學《選》。今則駸駸顏、謝間風致。惟十九首悠遠慷慨，一唱三歎而有遺音，更數年，雲屋進又未可量也。十九首上有風、雅、頌四詩，俟予山居既成，俯仰溫故，又將與君細評之。
