莆中有二蔡：其一派君謨，其一派京。傳聞京子孫慚京所為，與人言每自詭為君謨後。孝子慈孫之心，固不應爾，亦以見世間羞恥事，雖為人後猶將愧之。彭和甫之派來自博士齊，非玕後也，今其譜牒，並二族為一本。為君謨之後而引京以混之，人情固大相遠哉！予聞晉沈勁恥其父陷於逆，致死以滌之，卒為忠義。唐柳比有言：「門地高者，一事墜先訓，則無異他人。」是以修己不得不至。諸公皆勸和甫以自立，和甫而祖玕，猶當為沈勁；和甫而祖博士，柳比之言得不勉乎哉！
