昔者，人臣得與君同遊者，其竭忠成全其君，飲食夢寐，未嘗忘其政。所以政者何？惟務為民造福，捨君之失，撙君之過，補君之缺，顯祖宗於地下，歡父母於生前，榮妻子於當時，身名流芳，千萬載不磨。專在竭忠守分，智人悟之，有何難哉？
今之人臣不然。蔽君之明，張君之惡，邪謀黨比，機無暇時。凡所作為，盡皆殺身之計，趨火赴淵之籌。
