》曰：在蘇州東南三十里，名三江口。一江西南上七十里至太湖，名曰淞江，古笠澤江；一江東南上七十里白蜆湖，名曰上江，亦曰東江；一江東北下二百餘里入海，名曰下江，亦曰婁江，其分處號三江口。顧夷《吳地記》：淞江東北行七十里，得三江口。

庾仲初注《揚都賦》：太湖東注為淞江。七十里有水口，流東北入海為婁江，東南入海為東江。蓋淞江之有婁江、東江，如岷江之中江、北江、九江，其實一江耳。昔賢以此解淞江下之三江口，非以為《
禹貢
》之三江也。

《吳郡續志》云：淞江受太湖，一自長橋流入同里犁湖蘘，由白蜆江入薛澱湖；一自甘泉橋由淞江尾東華澤湖，自急水港至白蜆江入澱湖，而注之海。以《正義》《吳地記》求其所在，則淞江北行七十里分流者，當在今崑山之境。說者徒欲尋求二江，而不知由淞江細弱，所以奇分之水遂不可見。《續郡志》云：崑山塘自婁門歷昆山以達於海。以劉家港為婁江，意亦附會也。
