頃造精廬，獲奉風旨。迫於晷刻，言別悵悵。承及貞女事，諸君子慨然有烈丈夫之風，愛莫助之。再奉《記事》一首，前所述頗疏略，當以此為證。此皆得之眾論，無一語妝飾，但不知於史法何如耳？少時讀書，見古節義事，莫不慨然歎息，泣下沾襟，恨其異世，不得同時。至於今者，著於耳目，乃更旁視遲疑，如不切己。豈捐軀之義，無取於當年；英烈之風，獨隆於往代耶？秋暑未得一面，余惟自愛。
