晉太廟有石人焉，大張其口，而書其胷曰：
我古之多言人也，無少言，無少事，少言少事，則後生何述焉。夫唯立言，名乃長久，胡為塊然，生鉗其口。凡夫貪財，烈士殉名，盜跖為濁，夷柳為清，鮑肆為臭，蘭圃為馨，莫貴澄清，莫賤滓穢，二者言異，歸於一會，堯懸諫皷，舜立謗木，聽采風謠，惟日不足，道潤羣生，化隆比屋，末葉陵遲，禮教彌衰，承旨則順，忤意則違，時好細腰，宮中皆饑，時悅廣額，下作細眉，逆龍之鱗，必陷斯機，括囊無咎，乃免誅夷，顛覆厥德，可為傷悲，則可用戒，無妄之時，假說周廟，於言為蚩，是以君子，追而王之。
