四溟山人，眇一目，稱〔眇君子〕，然其論詩真天人具眼，弇州《
藝苑卮言
》所不及也。詩之工，則有目者咸識之。全集中有《詩家直說》四卷校訂而授之梓。惜未得善本補其殘缺，又何敢嫌其繁冗，謬加刪削為哉？山人之義心俠骨，非徒以風雅見重。奕世猶將興起，而同時有擠而抑之者，交道之難，可慨也。王阮亭綠詩，以山人冠嘉隆〔七子〕，所為序，亦極意推崇，存之以當山人小傳。若趙王為之刻集，籓邸諸君頗多題跋。然文之所傳者少，故不具綠。乾隆甲孟夏，繡水石齋胡曾撰。

前明謝四溟先生為趙籓重客，嘗刊其全集以行世，迄今又二百餘年矣，梨板無存，日就湮沒，良可惜焉。行篋中有先王父一齋公手抄《四溟詩話》，然非足本，河北觀察使胡韭溪訪求全集，幸而得之。公子石齋汲古既深，闡幽更切，披覽《詩話》，有契於心，因屬顧君稼梅繕寫發雕，而自為校訂，不加刪削，則珍惜之意也。計甫草之過鄴，請於當事，立碑墓門，是四溟生前知己。既有康王穆王，歿世既久，又得甫草石齋為之表彰，四溟可以無憾。若賈姬之贈，載於《恒史》，王固愛才，姬亦守節，〔眇君子〕之榮，不遠過於〔七子〕〔五子〕之流也哉。
