揚子雲稱士有不談王道者，則樵夫笑之。予際極盛之世，淺浴詩書之澤，不王道之談，而矢口涉筆，冗雜一編，典雅不如夢溪，雋永不如聞雁，亦剽其名曰筆談，其不免樵夫之笑者幾希！而二三同學，則謬許可傳，意者略其瑣屑無謂之處，其間頌聖稱先，道人著書風俗，或蠡測經史，辯誣證誤，亦間有近道者歟。先民不廢芻堯之詢，聖人亦擇狂夫之言，覽者推斯義焉，庶乎其可也。乙酉仲春，巢林龔煒漫書。
