避諱興而經籍淆，漢唐以來指不勝屈，宋人尤甚。淳熙文書式所載一帝之諱多者至五十餘字，或離其文曰從某，或闕其文而注曰某諱某一字，體例不一。又敘述帝王或稱其廟號，或陵，或謚，或其紀年，而紀年之字，大安，太安所殊一點；興元，元興不過互文轉寫，易訛輒滋疑問。余因取而譜之，汰其僭閏以從簡約，若新莽、武周之屬，羣書援据每及者則附錄，校理之餘，用便检省焉。
