重九前一日讀報章，慨然以緩急相周。昔鐘離意薦友入都，特贈治裝之費；今弟爲貧謀仕，閣下不責其非分之干，而有求必應，在遠不遺，此種高情，並足千古。且冰清座上，琴鶴蕭然，乃以萊蕪之甑塵，潤漆園之鮒涸，不特飲情知感，更令戴德難安矣。惟冀掣分直省，得於彤驂紫蓋間，供其驅策。此實邀君之福，而卽弟之所以報也。
