蓋聞齊、魯之間之於文學，自古以來，其天性也。文者，學之枝葉。制舉之文，又其近者爾。然以效聖人賢人之言，則心之精微達於辭氣者，固可以得其崖略焉。某備官漕河，不與民治，而發徵期會，政令所及，州邑凡三十。東夏文獻之區，計過半矣。竊欲觀於國風，以窺尋群士之所藏。謹擇《四書》題二，《五經》疑義各一條，願切磋究之。毋以某懵學寡聞而有遐心也。
