嗟我村民居瘠土，生計強半在農圃；連阡種蒔因地宜，甘蔗之利敵黍稌。
年來旱魃狠為災，自春徂冬暵不雨；晨昏抱甕爭灌畦，辛勤救蔗如救父。
救得一蔗值一文，家家喜色見眉宇。
豈料悍卒百十群，嗜甘不恤他人苦。
拔劍砍蔗如刈草，主人有言更觸怒；翻加讒衊恣株連，拘繫搒掠命如縷。
主將重違士卒心，豢而縱之示鼓舞；仍勸村民絕禍根，爾不蒔蔗彼安取！
百姓忍饑兵自靜，此法簡便良可詡；因笑古人拙治軍，秋毫不犯何其腐！
