杜叔元君懿善書，學李建中法。為宣州通判。善待諸葛氏，如遇士人，以故為盡力，常得其善筆。余應舉時，君懿以二筆遺余，終試筆不敗。其後二十五年，余來黃州，君懿死久矣，而見其子沂，猶蓄其父在宣州所得筆也，良健可用。君懿膠筆法，每一百枝，用水銀粉一錢，上皆以沸湯調研如稀糊。乃以研墨，膠筆永不蠹，且潤軟不燥也。非君懿善藏，亦不能如此持久也。
