金華潘衡初來儋耳，起竈作墨，得煙甚豐，而墨不甚精。予教其作遠突寬竈，得煙幾減半，而墨乃爾。其印文曰「海南松煤東坡法墨」，皆精者也。常當防墨工盜用印，使得墨者疑耳。此墨出灰池中，未五日而色已如此，日久膠定，當不減李廷珪、張遇也。元符二年四月十七日。
