唐末五代，文章衰盡，詩有貫休，書有亞棲，村俗之氣，大率相似。如蘇子美家收張長史書云：「隔簾歌已俊，對坐貌彌精。」語既凡惡，而字無法，真亞棲之流。近見曾子固編《太白集》，自謂頗獲遺亡，而有《贈懷素草書歌》及《笑矣乎》數首，皆貫休以下詞格。二人皆號有識知者，故深可怪。如白樂天贈徐凝、退之贈賈島之類，皆世俗無知者所托，尤不足多怪。
