故人楊濟甫之子明字子微，不遠數千里，來見仆與子由。會子由有汝海之行，仆亦遷嶺表，子微追及仆於陳留，留連不忍去。欲作濟甫書，行役倦甚，不果。可持是示濟甫，此即書也，何必更作。子微篤學有文，自言知數術，雲仆必不死嶺表。若斯言有征，當為寫《道德經》相償，此紙所以誌也。紹聖元年閏四月十八日，新英州守蘇軾書。
