人有言曰：儒者不言兵，仁義之兵無術而自勝。使仁義之兵無術自勝也，則武王何用乎太公，而牧野之戰，「四伐、五伐、六伐、七伐，乃止齊焉」，又何用也。《權書》，兵書也，而所以用仁濟義之術也。吾疾夫世之人不究本末，而妄以我為孫武之徒也。夫孫氏之言兵，為常言也。而我以此書為不得已而言之之書也。故仁義不得已，而後吾《權書》用焉。然則權者，為仁義之窮而作也。
