距會稽城東北七里，有山曰梅山。山之麓有泉，曰子真泉，遊者或疑焉。智者及道人求笠澤漁父為之銘，銘曰：
梅公之去漢，猶鴟夷子之去越也。變姓名，棄妻子，舟車所通，何所不閱。彼吳市門人偶傳之，而作史者因著其說。儻信吳市而疑斯山，不幾乎執一而廢百耶。梅公之去，如懷安於一方，則是以頭血丹莽之斧鉞也。山麓之泉，甘寒澄澈，珠琲玉雪。與子徘徊，酌泉飲之，亦足以盡公之高，而歎其決也。
