近看《孟子》，見人即道性善，稱堯、舜。此是第一義。若於此看得透，信得及，直下便是聖賢。便無一毫人欲之私，做得病痛。若信不及，孟子又說個第二節功夫。又只引成覸、顏淵、公明儀三段說話。教人如此發憤，勇猛向前。日用之間，不得存留一毫人欲之私在這裏。此外更無別法。若於此有個奮迅興起處，方有田地可下功夫。不然，即是畫脂鏤冰，無真實得力處也。近日見得如此。自覺頗得力，與前日不同。故此奉報。
