歐陽文忠公以右正言知制誥，謫守滁上。明年，得釀泉於醉翁亭之東南隅。一日，會僚屬於州廨，有以新茶獻者，公敕吏汲泉。未至而汲者仆，出水，且慮後期，遂酌他泉以進。而公已知其非釀泉，窮問之，得紫薇泉於幽谷下。文忠博學多識，而又好奇。既得是泉，乃作亭以臨泉上，名之曰「豐樂」。當時名公宿儒皆為賦詩以紀其事，由是紫薇泉始盛聞於天下。今帖所稱酒名，豈非滁陽官釀耶。
