僕辱知愛有數十載，故舊所不如者，此當何如？其為報竭心思窮，藝能至力，有所弗克而後已，其於報稱尚歉然以為懷。况文章小技，乃僕之所素業，而先大夫之豐功茂績，又有所不容不揄揚者乎？是則此不當有所予，而彼不當有所受，亦明矣。且使嘗見今之館閣諸公，為人表墓志壙於故人知已，或僚寀門生，俱無享多儀之例，則僕之敢再辭多儀，亦非無所受而故為此不恭也。伏惟亮察不具。
