暴之取死，此自然也。傷人不改，縱暴滋多，殺之可也。傷人而能改悔，則豈須肉刑而後止哉？殺以除暴，自然理也。斷截之政，末俗之所云耳。孔少府曰︰「殺人無死，斫人有小瘡，故刖趾不可以報尸，而髡不足以償傷。」傷人一寸，而斷其支體，為罰已重，不厭眾心也。
