讚曰：《本紀》稱「孝哀自為藩王及太子，文辭博敏，幼有令聞。雅性不好聲色，時覽卞射武戲。覩孝成之世祿去公室，權柄外移，是故臨朝務攬主威，以則武、宣」。然董賢用事，大臣誅傷，有覆餗棟撓之凶。自初即位，有痿痺之疾，末年浸劇，享國不永，亂臣乘間，豈不哀哉！世主覽此，足以見成敗之基，收后族之權，清儉愛民，可垂統也。
