侯官林氏女，為上海徐兆洙妻；期而寡；遺腹子曰泰。泰從林受《孝經》。既長，好文章，篤於朋友，龔自珍友之。告自珍曰：吾母平生再刲股，一療吾外王母疾，再療吾王母疾，皆愈，親族無知者。寡十四歲而卒。卒歲餘，吾祖母病眩瞀，家人恐，病者忽自語：愈矣，適四娘立吾側，飲吾茶，果愈。侍病者皆泣。四娘者，吾父於諸同產季也。道光十九年，詔旌上海縣徐兆洙妻林氏，泰立石墓側，使自珍銘。銘曰：生以肉療母，死以魂翼母，宜有德有文之子熾爾後。
