禮不下庶人，刑不上大夫。刑人不在君側。
有士禮，無庶人禮，聽其自盡而上不責之。「刑」，墨、劓、剕、宫。刑人各有所守，不使爲近侍，以防姦而遠怨。三者皆以明貴賤、崇廉耻也。
