弔喪弗能賻，不問其所費；問疾弗能遺，不問其所欲；見人弗能館，不問其所舍。
「賻」，用車馬或貨賄。「所欲」，所需嗜食藥。「不問」者，口惠不誠。
賜人者不曰來取，與人者不問其所欲。
畀君子曰「賜」，賚小人曰「與」。不令之來取，必往遺之，以崇君子。不問所欲，恐其欲難厭，以全小人。
右第四十八章。此章因弔賻之義而推廣言之。
