（慰喪弟及自訴境遇）久不見碧梧翠竹之姿，每於月白風清，輒深神往。且以足下久不入直爲疑。近得阮昔侯札，知駕遊山左，種蓮楚邱者，已非一日。青萍結綠，到處爭售，所固然也。
令弟才華意氣，滿謂嵆山獨鶴，足以振采雞羣；何期牙琴一摧，墓草已宿，令人感慨係之！
弟初客遼西，旋遊津淀。今春復有平舒之役。年年壓線，依舊幫傭，良由村女蛾眉，難爲時賞耳。
