旅食頻年，親朋久闊。頃於令妹倩處，詢知駕駐都門，爲來歲春闈計。足下以邊孝先之經笥，兼江文通之筆花，曳紫紆青，自堪握券；轉盼杏花春暖，定作金鰲頂上人矣。
弟碌碌依人，徒慙餬口；援例而謀薄秩，更不免爲大雅所嗤。會當赴都掣籤，不知赴選文結曾否到部？祈致貴居停代爲查示。此行若果，則對芝宇而聆蘭言，當在桂花清影中也。
