蜀之山，峭狹而自上，奇嶮甲天下，故人才不多生，生則必奇。執事，蜀奇士也。通籍後，僑江南，足跡交天下，才益博大。以蜀之人居江南而游天下，其奇且博大也固宜，抑又當不獨在文章。
禧，江右鄙夫，縣最僻，於文章宜無所知。天下稱文盛矣，執事少所可，嘗聞友人閔賓連，竊謂禧爲可與言。又奉書徵所未刻文，謹錄若干首以獻。禧隱居金精翠微山，奇石四十里，爲古神仙之宅，自謂足終老。然嘗披蜀圖志，則是固盆盎中物，不得望部婁。
禧不敢更費辭，惟執事教，幸賜德音焉。
