》知為廣南節度崇龜從弟也。自序少慕赤松子兄弟，因以「金華」自號。赤松子即丹谿皇初平，入婺州金華山得道，叱石成羊者也。其兄初起，後改名赤魯班，事見《真誥》及《
神仙傳
》。觀劉生所慕，其人志趣概可想見矣。是編載鄭樵《通志‧藝文略》雜史類作三卷。注云：記大中、咸通後事，今止二卷，而第一條詳序列祖之興，昇元之盛，自序皇上憂勤大寶云云，正謂李氏。疑所逸一卷，南唐事為多。然《紺珠集》、《唐詩紀事》所引，而今無文者，仍皆東京舊聞，簡冊斷殘，無可證明矣。然實足以補唐史之闕遺，以視鄭文寶《江表志》、龍袞《江南野史》，正未易以軒輊言也。
