雍正十一年，年十七，歸縣民高爾信。高僦屋官廒東，與宋某同宮，庭宇相望。某妻與烈婦有違言，數構之於其姑。十二年六月烈婦將歸寧，其母遣從子自銑迎。適高嫗及爾信皆出，某妻走告其姑曰：「汝婦與人通，入戶即探囊金與之。」復嗾東西家無藉者數人闖入交哄，強解自銑衣脅立借券，不則共證之。烈婦呼銑曰：「亟鳴之官！若書券，我即死。」銑暗弱，急求脫，執筆欲書。烈婦望見，即引刀自剄。眾嚇自銑，且誘之，卒書券。烈婦死，因以券為徵。有司莫辨也，既當自銑大辟。而後知其冤，以矜疑繫獄，

赦免。邑之學儒者朱紹夏、孫坦為文以標白之，而致於余。嗚呼！烈婦遭怪變，謂惟死可自明，而即用其死以成獄辭。徒以銑之券耳。人心之抏敝至此，吁，可畏哉！傳其事，以志烈婦之隱湣，且使為吏者鑒焉。

論曰：古之聽訟獄者，必悉其聰明致其忠愛以盡之，疑獄泛與眾共之。世有鳥獸行而能殺身以自明者乎？自古婦人之義皆以死而彰，魏氏則既死而猶暗鬱。《易》曰：「日中見沫。」又曰：「載鬼一車。」聖人繫辭以為世戒，有以也夫！
