舊毯木屐背包登，登岸攏歸客館層。
第一信條中夜起，照頭沖浴冷於冰。
註：新客頭之指揮新客，以一日三四回沖涼為衛生秘訣，尤須夜後雞鳴前從事，淋至齒戰唇皺指甲白，不准少休，以今觀之，一何酷哉！雖然，之慈母有以緊纏女腳為愛，與嚴師之勤架體罰生徒為善者，又何怪乎客頭？幸而今時有稍知其非者矣！
其二
胡越交譏各一時，六朝北韃訐南夷。
唐山新客來三日，滿口巫言詈漢兒。
註：輕薄是俗人常態，華僑多來自鄉間，不脫俚氣，初習馬來語必從罵人極猥褻者先學之，略能上口，自鳴得意，以示彼非新客也者，一何可哂！
