萬曆四十七年，
大明伐後金
。事聞朝鮮，
光海君遣
姜弘立助之，軍於富察之野。明敗績於薩爾滸，弘立以兵降後金。
天啟三年，
仁祖反正，與大明善，納毛文龍於
皮島
。文龍據朝鮮之鐵山，
努爾哈赤以為大患。乃於天啟七年正月，遣阿敏、
濟爾哈朗、
阿濟格、
岳託、
碩託為將，領兵三萬伐朝鮮。
後金兵勢如劈竹，破平壤、
平山、
開城，鮮兵懼，皆走散。阿敏脅以剃髮易服，鮮人多有不從者。乃屠數萬，焚糧草百餘萬。事聞漢陽，國中震恐。二十八日，仁祖走江華島，遣使議和。時後金之精銳皆在朝鮮，
皇太極懼大明攻盛京，命阿敏與之盟。二月二日，與朝鮮盟於江華島，約為兄弟之國。四月，阿敏以兵歸。
初，朝鮮以後金為蠻夷。至丁卯胡亂，以為仇讎。及其兵歸，絕其互市
。
崇禎九年，皇太極復侵朝鮮
。
