九龍杯之構造
九龍杯，
酒器也。傳為明
季巧匠所創，杯內豎一龍
首，龍頸於杯底有小孔，杯之外底之中亦有一孔。持此杯飲，不可過盈，則與常杯無異。若過盈，則酒從底孔出之殆盡。故亦名公道杯，
戒貪杯
。
其理，蓋虹吸耳。龍頸內有複管，其內管上與外管通，下連杯底之孔，外管則俱封，惟開小孔內底，即龍頸之孔也。若夫斟酒不盈於內管之上口，則酒不稍出；若高之，則酒盈於內外管壁間，儼然虹吸之態，故酒循內管出之殆盡也。
