秦高祖武元王乞伏乾歸，
國仁之弟也。雄武英傑，沈雅有度量。國仁薨，乾歸嗣立河南王，改元太初。太初二年，
前秦苻登封其為金城王
。太初七年，登再封其為河南王，旋進封梁王
。遣其將敗氐王楊定，盡有隴西巴西之地。遷都苑川，稱秦王
。尋降於後秦姚興，還鎮，
太初十三年，朝後秦被留，
弘始十一年，逃歸。復稱秦王，改元更始，在位二十四年，其間失國八年，為兄子公府所弒，諡武元王，廟號高祖。
