。答剌麻八剌長子，祖父太子真金，曾祖父世祖
。
總兵北邊，平海都，封懷寧王。叔父成宗崩，右相哈剌哈孫迎立，殺阿忽台、阿難答，即帝位。以母弟愛育黎拔力八達為太子。嗣立後，欲創制改法，遂濫行封爵。稍變至元大德之政。在位四年崩，年三十一，廟號武宗，諡為仁惠宣孝皇帝
