唐明宗第五子，名從厚。
從厚即位後，親政節儉。潞王李從珂反叛，應順元年二月攻入洛陽，閔帝出逃，為河東節度使石敬瑭挾回洛陽。從珂廢帝為鄂王，尋以鴆酒弒之於衛州。在位一年，石敬瑭建後晋，諡從厚為閔帝，葬明宗之徽陵。
